Lola has a little brother (Simon) who suffers from autism spectrum disorder. Through her observations as a child, she discovers his hypersensitivity to the various small sounds that are hidden in the ambient cacophony. She decides to build a huge machine that will amplify these sounds and help her communicate with him.
